A tradition in the Blue Mountains is to celebrate Christmas in the winter months July to August. Yulefest was started many years ago by a couple of fellows who found celebrating Christmas in the heat of the Australian summer quite extraordinary.
So they came to the Blue Mountains in the middle of winter, when a flurry of snow can be expected, and enjoyed a Christmas celebration they were more used to - celebrating around a roaring log fire, sipping gluwein and feasting on roast turkey with all the trimmings!
Yulefest has now become quite a tradition, and many people flock to enjoy the treats of the Blue Mountains. Yulefest in July!
Any excuse for a Party! If you wish, we'll spice up the weekend for you with a few winter activities to ensure your appetite is large!
