Located between Katoomba and Jenolan Caves, Secret Valley Escape is a perfect base from which to explore the other Blue Mountains attractions.

Little Hartley and Surroundings
In the delightful village of Little Hartley set amongst gorgeous countryside, visit the picturesque local cafes and galleries including Talisman Gallery where Ron creates beautiful handworked metal creations. For those with an interest in history, Hartley Historic Village is a beautifully preserved 19th century village with guided tours available. There are many bushwalks of historic note from the time of the explorers including Lawsons Long Alley, Lockyer's Pass and Berghofer's Pass.

Jenolan Caves, Lithgow and Surrounds
Jenolan Caves is only a 40 minute drive and is considered "one of the finest and oldest cave systems in the world". There are many fascinating tours into different spectacular show caves, and adventure caving can also be arranged here. On Saturdays underground music concerts are often hosted in the amazing acoustics of the Cathedral Chamber.

Near Lithgow, the Zig Zag Railway is a 19th century engineering masterpiece, passing over 3 magnificent sandstone viaducts through 2 tunnels. A traditional steam locomotive takes you through this beautiful scenery. You may also choose to visit the Glow Worm Tunnel

Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens on the Bells Line of Road is a beautiful cool climate garden with a lovely restaurant.

Blue Mountain Villages - Katoomba, Blackheath, Leura
Visit Blackheath and browse the antique and curio shops, walk the rhododendron gardens, or visit Evan's Lookout, Govet's Leap or Hargreaves Lookout for amazing vistas.

Take a trip to Katoomba and the Three Sisters, climb the Giant Stairwell at Echo Point and ride the spectacular Scenic Railway and Skyway. There are many wonderful festivals held in Katoomba each year, including the Winter Magic Festival and the Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk, Roots and Blues. Leura is also a popular stop for lunch or afternoon tea with its many lovely cafes and shops.

The Blue Mountains World Heritage Area is a treasure trove of amazing bushwalks. Other wonderful bushwalks include the Grand Canyon Walk, Pulpit Rock Walk, National Pass through the Valley of the Waters, or even the Six Foot Track

Other possibilities include a trip to Mudgee for a tour around the wineries, or visiting Oberon - remember autumn is the perfect time for wild mushroom picking in the state pine forests.
